Typically when timecodes do not match the movie there’s a problem with the frame rate setting.  The fix is to figure out your media's frame rate, and then match InqScribe's transcript frame rate to your media frame rate.

Windows Users

(These are instructions for Windows 11+ -- the functionality should be similar for most versions of Windows.)

  1. Click the "Start" button and type "media".
  2. Start "Media Player"
  3. Open the movie that you're working on
  4. Press "Ctrl+i" (or select the "..." menu andselect "Properties"
  5. Note the "Frame rate" value.
  6. Now go to InqScribe.
  7. Open your InqScribe file with the movie.
  8. Select Transcript menu→Transcript Settings…
  9. What is the Frame Rate set to? Does it match your movie’s settings?

If they don’t match, select a frame rate that matches.

Macintosh Users

Here’s one way to check:

  1. Open your movie with QuickTime Player.
  2. Select Window menu→Show Movie Inspector.
  3. You should see a line called “FPS”. That’s telling you your frame rate for the movie.
  4. Now go to InqScribe.
  5. Open your InqScribe file with the movie.
  6. Select Transcript menu→Transcript Settings…
  7. What is the Frame Rate set to? Does it match your movie’s settings?

If they don’t match, select a frame rate that matches.
