InqScribe is fully Unicode compliant, meaning you can type in just about any language. Follow the steps below to get started in your language of choice:

  1. First, make sure to set up the keyboard in your preferred language layout.
  2. Type your transcript in InqScribe (tips on creating transcripts).
  3. If you want to use your transcript in another program, you may export your transcript into a file format of your choice.

A few notes on transcribing in right-to-left languages such as Hebrew and Arabic:

  • We recommend keeping timestamps on separate lines from dialogue. This way, you’ll avoid confusion about where in the text to place timestamps.
  • Be careful when creating snippets with English text. If your snippet ends with a little bit of English, Windows might switch your keyboard back to the English layout. Read about how to avoid the problem in this Knowledge Base article.
