On March 7, 2014, we announced that future versions of InqScribe will no longer use QuickTime (which Apple is no longer supporting), and instead will adopt AVFoundation in OSX and DirectShow or Media Foundation in Windows.

Since these newer media frameworks require more recent operating systems, we also announced that we will be modernizing InqScribe and updating its minimum technical requirements.

This applies to all versions of InqScribe later than 2.2.

This article is a place for us to log and respond to user questions regarding this shift. Note that we have not announced a date for these changes, but we’re announcing them now so that users who will be impacted by the system requirements change will have to time to explore their options for upgrading their system before the next version of InqScribe is released.

If you have specific questions about what these updates will mean for you, scan the list below and if you don't see an answer, contact us via the "Contact Support" link in the sidebar, or via our support page.
